team training and missionary care are vital pieces to the history of missions at acu. the halbert center continues this work of forming teams, preparing them spiritually, culturally, theologically, and practically, and walking with them once on the field.
The Halbert Center partners with academic programs to provide co-curricular formation in missions. This training involves assessment of missionary candidates, the formation and development of teams, as well as site-specific training. Undergraduate and Graduate degree information can be accessed through our academics page.

“Our experience with Halbert Center training has helped us all in many ways such as preparing us to be better teammates, helping us gain more knowledge about missions abroad, and understanding our journey ahead. We have been meeting every Monday morning at 7:30AM for two hours since school has started. Over the summer, we did online courses with lesson trainings along with reading a few books. We've also had weekend retreats that have helped our team get closer together. Halbert Center staff have invested a lot of time in helping us and we greatly appreciate their teachings and the Halbert Center program.” -Erika Scott, GAP team 2017.
